Affirmative action is necessary; however, it should be based on family income not on race. It’s ridiculous to assume that someone who can afford private tutors, SAT preparation, and better schools, and so many other educational advantages is inherently superior in intelligence to someone who is in public school,, who has a poor study environment, and other disadvantages that affect school performance.
The problem with using race is that not all minorities are poor. Under the present system a wealthy minority can be accepted over a poor white. It should be class, not race that is importance.
